Project Name: Construction of Kambenje, Namalowa and Mlambe Irrigation Schemes – Mulanje, Thyolo and Blantyre District

Scope of Work: This project consisted of constructing a weir at the source and a canal of around 2.5 km long. The canal was made using brick mortar and 160 mm steel pipes and PVC piping. Along the canal, related structures such as receiving boxes, stone masonry support pillars, collection chamber, retaining walls and foot bridges were constructed. In this project, a night storage reservoir was constructed with inlet, outlet and spillways. The main line network, secondary and tertiary lines used 160 mm to 63 mm UPVC pipes. Inspection chambers, hydrant chamber and valve chamber were constructed with all fittings and accessories. There was construction of road up to 7000m.
